Savory boards are great for many occasions, but if you love peanut butter as much as I do, then this sweet board might just be your new favorite.
Not much beats the irresistibly sweet and rich flavor of peanut butter. It can be enjoyed and incorporated into recipes in so many ways and this board brings many together into one. Someone once told me that it IS possible to have too much of a good thing, to which I remind them that Mark Twain once said, “too much good whiskey is barely enough.” The same goes for peanut butter.
I love this board for many reasons, one of the biggest being the nostalgia I experience from eating it. One fell swoop into the peanut butter cookie and marshmallow dip and you’re back to the second grade with your favorite peanut butter and fluff sandwich (no Clark, I will not trade you for your ants on a log). I’m all-in on anything that makes me feel like a kid again. You know what I mean… back when the only money that mattered was Monopoly and my biggest concern wasn’t if my grass was going to grow in evenly this season.
I digress.
To make this board, start by preparing the peanut butter cookie and marshmallow dip. As a note, you may want to let the skillet cool down slightly before setting it on your charcuterie board, depending on what material your board is made of. For example, a hot skillet can crack some woods, and marble can scratch or discolor under extremely hot temperatures. Now is also the time to spoon out some peanut butter into a small ramekin and place it opposite your skillet dip.
Now that your dips are ready, it’s time to layer on the rest of your sweet treats. I suggest putting peanut butter cookies around both the marshmallow dip and the creamy peanut butter bowl, as the cookies will be the sturdiest item to dip and won’t melt from the heat. Then, place your peanut butter cups, bananas, Butterfinger popcorn, and honey roasted peanuts in the remaining open space on your board.
Once everything is in place, melt a heaping spoonful of creamy peanut butter, drizzle it over your peanut butter cookie and marshmallow dip, and dig in.
